My name is Rúnar Hreinsson. I’m a photographer based in Iceland, inspired by light, landscape and stories waiting to be shared. “A picture is worth a thousand words” (Fred R. Barnard).

Photography was where it all began. Early on, I became fascinated by the still image — how a single frame could hold a moment, a feeling, or a story.

That curiosity led me into filmmaking. I studied at the London International Film School and spent over two decades working in commercial and documentary production. It taught me how to shape narrative, emotion, and atmosphere — frame by frame.

Later, I worked in marketing, leading creative projects and shaping visual communication. That experience gave me a clear understanding of how powerful imagery can be — not just to capture attention, but to communicate something deeper.

Today, I bring all of this into my photography. Whether working on a personal project or commissioned work, I focus on creating images that are honest, human, and lasting.
